Luocheng Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Daluoshan of Simen, 20 km north by east of Luocheng County, Guangxi. It was named by Le Senxun in 1929.
Lithology and Thickness
A suite of clastic rock formation, which is divided into three parts. Lower part consists of brown thin-bedded limestone intercalated with shale, containing chert, 10 m thick. Middle part is of brown thick-bedded limestone, containing corals and brachiopods, 15 m thick. Upper part is of dark-gray thick-bedded limestone, locally siliceous, 10 m thick. West of Liucheng, the clayey content increases in the limestone, turning into dolomitic limestone and dolomite intercalated with limestone at Wanggao of Zhongshan County, 85−384 m thick, and pinching out in the area west of Hechi and Nandan.

Lower contact
Conformable contact with the underlying Simen Fm
Upper contact
Conformable or disconformable variable contact with the overlying Dapu Fm in most areas.

Fossils
Lower part is rich in Corals Lithostrotion, Caninia and Syringopora, brachiopods Gigantoproductus, Striatifera, Dictyoclostus, etc. Middle part contains corals and brachiopods. Upper part contains Fusulinid Eostaffella sp.
